Durham Region's Site Liaison Committee (SLC) was established to convey the public's concerns regarding the proposed mass
burn incinerator to the Region. So far this committee has been lacklustre at best. It is time to stand together peacefully and
show regional politicians how we feel.

Durham Region Council's "committee of the whole" is expected to consider the final report on the environmental assessment study. This committee is composed of all the regional council members and it could recommend that the council adopt the report at its June 24th meeting.

We encourage you to speak at the meeting as a concerned resident.

This meeting could be even more important than the June 24th council meeting where the environmental assessment study report could be approved. Since the members of the committee are the members of the full council, it is unlikely that the council would vote on June 24th against the committee recommendation. If approved on June 24th, the report would be submitted to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment as part of an application for the operating permit.
