As you know, Durham and York Regions are trying to solve our garbage challenges with plans to build a waste incinerator in Clarington. We invite you to our next information evening.

The goal of this evening is to provide information and to encourage timely community involvement. This Information Session will also include a panel of speakers who will address the health, environmental and financial implications of incineration, as well as how we could move toward Zero Waste. Time will be set aside for questions and comments from the audience.

Zero Waste is getting attention from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment with its recent release of the public discussion paper Toward Zero Waste: A Review of the Waste Diversion Act (Comment deadline is April 1, 2009.)
